2024 Winter Indoor NFL FLAG League

NFL FLAG is the largest youth Flag Football League in the U.S. and has recently put a focus on expanding into Canada. The Regina Youth Flag Football League has been operating as an NFL FLAG branded league over the last several years and currently has over 2500 registered players for their spring season. GEFFA is looking forward to bringing NFL FLAG to Edmonton!

2024 Winter League Information

U9 (2017,2016,2015), U12 (2014,2013,2012) and U15 (2011,2010,2009)

ALL Girls U18 (2010,2009,2008,2007,2006)

Commitment: The Indoor NFL Flag League runs from February 25th to March 24th, 2024. Games will take place at the Dome at Foote Field and sessions will be one (1) hour in length for a total of (5) sessions with no additional practices. Sessions will consist of 30 mins of practice and a 30 min game each week.

The schedule will be:

Sundays, 9:00 am - 10:00 am 
 Sundays 10:00 - 11:00 am
for the following dates:
Feb. 25th
March 3rd
March 10th
March 17th
(no practice just game play)
March 24th

Investment: $225. This fee includes NFL Flag Team Reversible Jersey, NFL Flag Shorts, Flags, Football Alberta Membership, Football Canada Membership, Accident Insurance, Liability Insurance, Quality Trained Coaches (dependent on age level), and Field Rentals.

Players will be placed in divisions based on their age as of December 31, 2024.

General Details

The only additional equipment needed is a good pair of runners or cleats and a water bottle.
No experience is necessary. This is entry-level flag football league for players of all genders.
Divisions will play on 5 on 5 Flag Football.


Refund Policy

From the start of the registration to December 31st, 2023 refunds will be given less the $25 administration fee.

From January 1st, 2024 to the start of the season, refunds will be given less the $60 withdrawal fee.

After game 1, refunds will be given less the $100 withdrawal fee.

There will be no refunds issued after game 2 of the season.


**Covid Inclusions**

If the league is not able to run, refunds will be given minus anything paid for already.

If the season begins and then is forced to stop all play prior to the end of the season, a partial refund will be given (return based on time of stoppage).

What if I get waitlisted?
You will be added to the waitlist by divisions. Players are placed on a team that loses a player from its original roster, or if more teams are added.

When is the registration cut-off date?
The registration deadline is January 6th, 2023. If you register before the deadline and are waitlisted, your registration is still valid until you get added to a team or the waitlist is dropped after week 2.

Can my child play up an age group or down an age group?
The league may allow for youth to play up or down an age group in extenuating circumstances. Requests may be made to and must include appropriate reasoning. Please note we can not guarantee these requests will be granted.

Can I put in a request to play with certain players?
Yes, however, each player is limited to one friend request. In order for friend requests to be considered both friends must request each other. For example, If Bobbie requests to be on a team with Courtney, Courtney must request to be on a team with Bobbie.

How many players can play on a team?
A normal flag football team usually has 10-12 players, however, depending on the total number of players registered in a division, some teams may have less than 10.

What if the government shuts down sports will I get a refund?
Fees will be returned minus any hard costs committed. Anything that was ordered for the league will be delivered to all participants. We will not keep any goods paid for with registration funds.

Can I transfer fees to another season if the league gets canceled?
Yes, fees may be transferred to an upcoming season.
